Tripura University is higher education society in Tripura, started in 1947, there was no attempt in the past of princely tripura to establish any higher educational institution, as early in 1901 Radhakishore Manikya, a degree college in tiny capital from town agarthala, to meet the growing demands of a large number of students, who after the partition of the country had migration to Tripura from the erstwhile East now Bangladesh, it has been showed the urge of the people of higher education, desipite economic backwardness of the common people.
